Work & Price Structures

My consulting philosophy is that it is better for a client to reach their own conclusions about legal market strategy and management, guided by my recommendations and solutions.

Clients recognize that I am passionate about my work, and derive satisfaction from helping them achieve transformational results.

Global clients include premier law firms and legal service companies.

I am engaged by Managing Partners, Founding Partners, Senior Partners, Practice/Industry Leaders, Chief Marketing Officers, and Chief Client Officers at law firms; and Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and Founders of legal service companies.

I am exceedingly judicious when selecting clients with whom I work and the types of consulting and advisory work I choose to handle. I invest my expertise in only select clients who dare to be audacious, have an entrepreneurial streak, and are fiercely determined to be successful.

I have written and presented extensively on this approach, counsel clients accordingly, and follow my own advice.

Because it works. Over 90 per cent of my engagements are with repeat clients, or referrals from clients and contacts.

Work Structures

My consulting work is project and term-based to help solve specific problems that result in transformative impact.

My advisory work is open-structured to leverage my subject matter expertise and help achieve long-term strategic objectives.

In both instances, I collaborate with clients to:

  • Provide customized strategies, solutions, development paths, and tailored tactics.
  • Explore pros, cons, risks, and costs of options.
  • Suggest various forms of information collection, analysis, and collaboration.
  • Decide on a sensible and cohesive course of action.
  • Develop and execute a work plan or advise on solutions to achieve measurable outcomes that deliver exponential and ongoing value.

Price Structures

Price is based on the value of the outcome a client receives. Pricing is backed by my expertise, experience, industry knowledge, contacts, brand, and intellectual property.

I provide a range of price structures and options, including:

  • Value-based pricing for consulting work that reflects the importance of the outcome to a client’s overall business objectives and ensures that resulting value exceeds investment. This is my primary pricing model.
  • Pricing can also be structured as a fixed fee, flat fee, retainer, and/or project-based arrangement.
  • A blend of value-based pricing and rarely tolerated hourly fees may be considered depending on scope of work.
  • Advisory engagements are value-priced with either a fixed or flat fee.
  • An initial cursory consultation of 15-minutes is complimentary.
  • An in-depth 30-minute or 1-hour consultation can be secured by e-transfer payment in advance.

Contracts and Confidentiality

A contract for signature is provided only when project scope, expectations, responsibilities, and timing have been discussed thoroughly, next steps are crystal clear, and agreement to proceed has been reached by all parties.

I am entrusted to keep more secrets than the Sphinx. Therefore, confidentiality pertaining to clients, prospective clients, and non-clients is of paramount importance with all business kept strictly confidential before, during and after an engagement.
