My consulting philosophy is that it is better for a client to reach their own conclusions about legal market strategy and management, guided by my advice and recommendations.

Clients recognize that I am passionate about my work, and derive satisfaction from helping them achieve transformational results.

Global clients include premier law firms and legal service companies.

I am engaged by Managing Partners, Founding Partners, Senior Partners, Practice/Industry Leaders, Chief Marketing Officers, and Chief Client Officers at law firms; and Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and Founders of legal service companies.

I am judicious when selecting clients with whom I work, and the engagements I choose to handle. My time and expertise is invested in clients who dare to be audacious, tend have an entrepreneurial streak, and are determined to be successful.

I have written and presented extensively on this approach, counsel clients accordingly, and follow my own advice.

Because it works. Over 90 per cent of my engagements are with repeat clients, or referrals from clients and contacts.

Price Structures

Price is based on the value of the outcome a client receives. Pricing is backed by my expertise, experience, industry knowledge, contacts, brand, and intellectual property.

I provide a range of price structures and options, including:

  • Value-based pricing that reflects the importance of the outcome to a client’s overall business objectives and ensures that value exceeds investment. This is my primary pricing model.
  • Pricing may be structured as a fixed fee, flat fee, or retainer.
  • A blend of value-based pricing and rarely tolerated hourly fees may be considered depending on scope of work.

Consultations

I charge for consultations. This is because my consultations are not chats; they are working meetings designed to provide value from the start, so it is best to prepare accordingly.

Before a meeting, please review my services and insights relevant to the topics you wish to discuss. This will maximize the value you receive from our initial consultation.

A one-hour consultation is secured by e-transfer payment in advance of our meeting. This payment may be deducted from an engagement fee.

Contracts and Confidentiality

A contract for signature is provided only when scope, expectations, responsibilities, and timing have been thoroughly discussed, next steps are crystal clear, and agreement to proceed has been reached by all parties.

I am entrusted to keep more secrets than the Sphinx. Therefore, confidentiality pertaining to clients, prospective clients, and non-clients is of paramount importance with all business kept strictly confidential before, during and after an engagement.
